Catalog Mailorder
If you are planning to order some catalogs, there are some catalog mailorder guidelines that can assist and make your shopping experience fruitful and hassle-free. The catalog dates all the way back to the 19th century when the Sears catalog was first introduced. Since then there have been a huge number of followers in every imaginable industry. There are department store catalogs that sell all kinds of general merchandise and specialty catalogs that sell to a niche market. The first thing you should do is comparison shop, not for merchandise but for catalogs.
You may find the same item in two different catalogs at two different prices. There are all kinds of different catalogs that cater to the same consumer base. For example you will find all kinds of different department store publications. Sears, J.C. Penney and Spiegel are a few of the biggest. Often department stores will release seasonal catalogs, such as spring/summer and fall/winter. Many of them also release a separate holiday catalog as well.
If you cannot find what you are looking for in a department store catalog there is likely a specialty catalog that has it. However tracking down the catalog you need can be difficult without the right resources. The Internet is a great resource because you can look up all kinds of print and online catalogs from many different companies. Examples of specialty catalogs include Sephora which sells beauty supplies, Cabela's which sells hunting and outdoor supplies, and Hickory Farms, which sells a variety of gourmet food products. While many specialty catalogs also have websites and brick and mortar stores many customers look forward to the release of the print catalogs.
When shopping via catalog mailorder, you will need the appropriate payment type for your order. Most all catalogs accept major credit cards over the phone, over the Internet and even via a mailed order form. Some also accept check or money order when sent through the mail with an order form. One of the most important aspects of catalog shopping is making sure you've completed the order form correctly and filled in your billing and shipping details accurately. If not, your order could arrive wrong or not at all. If there is a problem with your catalog order, the customer service department of the store from which you ordered can help you straighten things out.
