Catalog Selling
If you are a small business owner who sells merchandise of any kind, catalog selling is definitely something you should consider. When most people think of a catalog they picture a printed periodical similar to a big magazine. Catalogs like Spiegel, J.C. Penney and Sears are massive, but yours doesn't have to be. There are smaller, niche catalogs that sell specialty items that are much smaller in size. Those that think catalogs are obsolete should definitely rethink their position. There are several reasons catalogs are still a good way to sell merchandise.
For example, some people just don't like shopping online. Although there are plenty of senior citizens who are computer literate and who shop online, there are also plenty who prefer a good old fashioned print catalog. And not just senior citizens like catalogs, either. Catalogs can be distributed a variety of places from physician waiting rooms to work break rooms. They are perfect for flipping through during a break or while waiting in line or in an office. Not to mention some people don't even own a computer and a catalog is the only way they can shop other than at a brick and mortar store.
If you own a small business and cannot imagine sending out large quantities of catalogs, you should know there are printing companies who can help you design and produce catalogs in the size, format and quantity of your choice. If you find that your first catalog distribution is a success, you may want to up your production. You can order anywhere from 100 catalogs to 100,000 depending on what printing company you are working with. Some have minimum orders, others do not. Before your catalog is completed, you will have a chance to review it and make sure it is exactly what you want.
Most all businesses who sell goods should offer a catalog to their customers. While some companies give away their catalogs others charge a small fee for the print version of their catalogs to offset production costs. You can also create a website catalog where your customers can shop online without having to order or pay for a printed version. In today's day and age it is important for business owners to give their potential customers plenty of options when it comes to browsing and ordering merchandise.
